DEURNE – Safety, ergonomics and a dust-free working environment were the key themes during Harwi’s recent Dealer Days in Deurne. The event, organised especially for dealers and their customers, attracted considerable interest and gave visitors an extensive introduction to the latest developments within the manufacturer’s machine range.

Harwi has been manufacturing industrial sawing machines since 1960. What started in Helmond has since developed into a modern manufacturing company in Deurne, where all production activities are now centralised. The company specialises in designing, manufacturing and supplying durable sawing machines for a wide range of applications within the woodworking industry.

Its product range includes vertical panel saws, radial arm saws and circular saws. These machines are used by window and door manufacturers, interior fit-out companies, kitchen manufacturers, housebuilding companies, exhibition stand builders and DIY stores, among others. Harwi offers a suitable machine solution for every application.

During the Dealer Days, visitors were not only given a behind-the-scenes look at the factory, but were also introduced to Harwi’s latest innovation: the Harwi Helios. According to Martien Welten and Wil van Tankeren, the event was very well attended and highly successful.

Safety and health

An important focus in machine development is the reduction of wood dust. “Dust, and wood dust and fine dust in particular, are recognised as occupational health hazards,” the two explain.

For this reason, Harwi sawing machines are equipped with a dual extraction system at both the front and rear of the machine. “This reduces the amount of wood dust released to an absolute minimum and creates a considerably healthier working environment for operators. The latest European regulations require fine dust to be extracted from both the front and rear of the panel. This is what makes this new panel saw so unique.”

Safety and health have been core values at Harwi for many years. All machines comply with the applicable CE requirements and are designed with a strong focus on ease of use and ergonomics. Thanks to their light and smooth operation, operators can work comfortably and safely.

A broader product range

Harwi machines are sold and supported throughout Europe via a network of approximately 35 dealers. This dealer network is known for its technical expertise, service and comprehensive aftersales support.

Harwi follows a clear principle when it comes to sales and product development: “We build what the end user needs.”

At the same time, the company has taken a critical look at its product range. By removing several models from the portfolio, Harwi is able to increase standardised production and manufacture more cost-effectively, without compromising on quality or flexibility.

To offer customers an even more complete range of machinery, Harwi has also added Salvamac’s up-cut cross-cut saw to its portfolio. This further broadens the range of solutions available to the professional woodworking industry.

With a combination of craftsmanship, innovation, flexibility and a strong focus on safety, Harwi continues to position itself as a leading player in the European sawing machinery industry.
